Perchloroethylene is a slightly liquid hydrocarbon. Produces the product is inter alia by the DOW. There are several qualities: technical grade, USP, spectrometry.

Uses/applications: It is used as solvent for polyolefins and similar plastics. It has a high water hazard class and is often used in closed systems. Perchlorethylene is used also in the dry-cleaning, which is found in garmet washing advice often as (P)

It is also used as a cleaning agent from optical media (lenses / prism) due to its high degreasing property. Furhter applications are vapor-degreasing , drying agnet for metals, vermifuge, heat-transfer medium, manufacture of flourocarbons.
